The Estonian Maritime Museum, Tallinn

The museum has two locations:
In the city centre in the Fat Margaret, a barbican built to strengthen the medieval city wall, which houses the cog find and the collection on the history of the merchant navy from the early days to present.
The second site is the former sea-plane hangar somewhat to the North, at the shores of the Baltic sea, which houses the naval collection, the exhibition on exploration, and all large artifacts, pleasure boats, buoys and in particular the submarine LEMBIT The icebreaker SUUR TÖLL is moored at the quay in front of the hangar, and in the space before various patrol-boats are displayed on land.
Founded originally during the 1st period of Estonian independence in the 1920s, the collection has seen various ups and downs, being partially dispersed during the Soviet occupation and rebuilt after independence in 1991. As a consequence, the majority of the ship-models are modern.

Below I am showing a selection of models and other artifacts that are not meant to be representative, but rather reflect my personal interests.
